I write epic fantasy – the long, immersive kind, with old magic, lost knowledge and a world that has more history under its floorboards than anyone living remembers.

Hild's Reckoning grew out of a question I could not let go of: what if a whole civilisation used magic every day without understanding it, and had forgotten, on purpose, that it ever could? And what if the one person who kept asking why was the worst student in the school?

I love the great doorstop series, the ones with a map in the front and a world you can get lost in, and stories about friends who meet at school and end up facing something far larger than themselves. Hild's Reckoning is my attempt at the book I always hoped to find on the shelf: sweeping and dark, with raw battles, real romance and characters who have to earn every inch.
